Masochism

Masochism is a condition in which a person receives pleasure from feeling pain.  Because masochism usually relies on a person to deliver that pain, this relationship is referred to as sadomasochism.  A sadist can deliver pain to a masochist in many different forms including emotional and physical. Even though sadomasochism is its own paraphilia (sexual fetish), it is often thought of in regards to Bondage & Discipline and Dominance and Submission, otherwise collectively known as BDSM.  There are many misconstrued ideas about masochism in culture.  Many think of these people as weak or having emotional problems.  Really, masochists tend to be strong people in places of power who enjoy having their pain limits pushed.  Many top executives in stressful jobs are closet masochists.

At sites like Alt.com dating, one can really get an idea of how many masochists are out there looking for a sadist.  Alt.com started out to help these people connect so they can pursue their fetishes.  It actually takes a lot of trust and respect for a successful sadomasochistic relationship because the partners must be familiar with each other’s limits.  That is why sites like Alt.com are great for helping people meet to fulfill their fetishes.
